MILLIGRAMS?? You’re looking for a jewelry scale or a lab/druggist scale. Good luck finding one in a store. Plus, they’re pretty expensive. I know you said you don’t want to shop online, but you might have a look at these, anyway. They are the cheapest I’ve seen:

Walmart to the rescue — For twenty bucks you can get a pretty decent electronic scale at Walmart. One is in the office supply section and I recently found another in the kitchen utensil section . There is yet another in the sporting goods section for weighing fish but it only weighs in pounds an ounces — does not go down any smaller like grams etc. [who]

You’ll probably have better luck at a kitchen store for a good one. Polder makes some great electronic scales. I swear by everything Polder that I’ve ever bought, from timers to thermometers to scales. [who]

Try office supply stores like Office Max or Staples and look in their “mailing supplies” section. I have a postal scale I use in the kitchen which has a digital readout in grams or ounces and can be switched back or forth easily. [who]
